Borderlands 3 gives you a decent amount of options for moving around in a firefight, but they won’t do you much good if you don’t know how to use them. That’s why we’re here to walk you through how to crouch and slide.
How to Crouch and Slide in Borderlands 3
To get right to the point, you can crouch and slide in Borderlands 3 with some specific button presses and combinations of button presses.
For crouching, you only need to press one button to switch in and out of a crouch. On PlayStation 4, you press the circle button. Meanwhile, on Xbox One, you press the B button.
As for sliding, you can pull it off by switching into a crouch while running. This means pressing the requisite button while in a full sprint; any other speed of movement will cause you to simple crouch down wherever you’re standing.
A table with all of the necessary button inputs can be found below.
|PlayStation 4||Circle Button||Circle + Left Analogue Stick while sprinting|
|Xbox One||B Button||B + Left Analogue Stick while sprinting|
These inputs apply to the entire game as well as whichever Vault Hunter you choose to play as, so once you’ve got it figured out, you’re good to go for the rest of the experience.
As for when you should use these mechanics, it depends on the situation.
If you’re trying to access an area that can only be accessed via a small hole, or need to take cover behind a small patch of rock or debris, crouching is your best bet.
However, if enemies are closing in on you and you need to enter said area or cover as quickly as possible, it would behoove you to use a slide to reach and/or enter these places as quickly as possible.
