Sony is back for our wallets again with another themed sale on the PSN store. This time, they have chosen to feature games that are big in Japan.
The sale runs now through Sept. 24, giving games new and old some of the lowest prices we have ever seen.
While there are a lot of great titles on the list, we have compiled the seven best that you can buy with your hard-earned cash.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
- Original Price: $59.99
- Sale Price: $44.99 (25% off)
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the FromSoftware and Activision love child that has impressed fans all over the world since its release in March of 2019.
In fact, Sekiro was so anticipated by fans that it led to the game selling over 2 million copies in only ten days after launch, leading to better than expected results for publisher Activision.
The game beautifully mixes stealth and combat as you maneuver around the vast world, taking down some of the most difficult enemies in video game history.
Not only is this a game that is beloved in Japan, but it is also heavily inspired by Eastern culture.
The game is filled with Japanese lore that adds to the building blocks of incredible environmental storytelling that FromSoftware is known for.
For a game that was released so recently, it’s surprising that it is receiving a sale so soon. Albeit only a slight discount at 25% off, do not let the fact that it’s on sale deter you from it.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a Game of the Year contender for many and is worthy of a spot in anyone’s library.
If you are a fan of Demon Souls, Dark Souls, or Bloodborne, you owe it to yourself to play Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
- Original Price: $19.99
- Sale Price: $4.99 (75% off)
Releasing back in 2015, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain would become the final love letter from creator Hideo Kojima before he and Konami had their nasty public break up.
Despite the drama unfolding behind the scenes, The Phantom Pain remains one of the most impressive games of the generation, getting near perfect scores from multiple gaming outlets.
Although it has its fair share of criticisms, especially concerning the ending, the journey you go along with Snake is not only captivating, but it will leave you with that classic bewildered look that all Kojima games seem to leave players with.
The game is structured into various missions that the player chooses prior to leaving Mother Base, the main headquarters of operations for Big Boss’ Diamond Dogs, of which Snake is a part of.
Each mission plays out like a puzzle, where the player is given a selection of tools and items to choose from to take into the stage with them prior to starting.
Using those items, combined with your self-designed strategy, will help you infiltrate various bases and sneak past guards to complete the mission and its objectives.
If you are a fan of Hideo Kojima’s work, Metal Gear Solid 5 is must own.
With Death Stranding right around the corner, you may not have much more time to get caught up on his latest works if you wait much longer.
Fire Pro Wrestling World
- Original Price: $49.99
- Sale Price: $24.99 (50% off)

Speaking of customization, this is where the Fire Pro series truly shines. The game gives the player the ability to create their own wrestlers, their own wrestling promotion, and even their own championship belts.
If you arent feeling up to creating your own roster, you can download created wrestlers that fans have made, complete with full moves and iconic outfits.
Although the game does not officially have a WWE roster, fans all over the world have taken it upon themselves to add those wrestlers to the game via the robust creation system.
The combat in Fire Pro Wrestling World plays out much as it does in the actual squared circle, where you and your opponent will be countering each other until you finally break through for an opening.
