How to Reset Sims in The Sims 4

There are a number of ways to reset your Sim in The Sims 4 so we’re going to break down five different ways you can do that. The first one, second and third options we’ll talk about is exclusive to PC as they are essentially cheats.

Option 1

The first option you have comes by way of the Cheat Console menu. To open this, hit control + shift + c.

Once this menu is open, type “testingcheats true” and then shift+click on the Sim you want to reset. This will pull up a small menu with an option to “Reset Object (Debug).”

Hit that and it will automatically reset.

Option 2

The second option is a cheat just like the first one which means it’s exclusive to PC. Once more, open the Cheat Console menu with control + shift + c.

In this menu, type “testingcheats true” and then shift + click on any section of your lot. One option will pop up and it will say “Teleport Here.” Select that and your stuck Sim will reset and teleport to the area you’ve just selected.

Option 3

The final cheat-based option requires that you open the Cheat Console once more with shift + click + c. With this open, type “resetsim FirstName LastName” using the first and last name of the Sim you want to reset.

This will automatically reset the Sim to a random area on your lot.

Option 4

Now that we’re done with cheat-based options, let’s talk about two options that are quite easy.

What you’re going to want to do is open your lot menu and select a lot different from the one you’re on currently. Select all of the Sims that are stuck and need to be reset and then select the option to teleport them to the new lot.

Select OK and your Sims will be reset in that new location.

Option 5

The final option sees you moving your Sim out and then back in. To do this, open the Manage World menu in the upper right corner.

In here, select Manage Household. Select the household you want your Sim to move to and then select the truck in the bottom right. This will move the Sim to a new lot.

While this is an extreme option, it will get the job done although we recommend trying the other four options if you can first.

That’s it for our guide on how to reset Sims in The Sims 4.
