Oninaki, the latest offering from Square Enix and Tokyo RPG Factory, is finally out, and if you’re probably dying to dive in as soon as possible. Or at least, you will be after you figure out how long Oninaki is and how long it takes to beat.
Lucky for you then that we have the answer.
How Long Oninaki Takes to Beat
Falling more on the side of an action RPG, Oninaki is a fairly straightforward and linear experience and takes anywhere between 20 and 25 hours to beat.
Most of this is due to aspects like whether or not you have trouble with a certain boss, whether you need to backtrack to find a Daemon you passed over by accident and other such factors.
Even then, a basic playthrough will almost certainly fall into this time frame.
It’s easy to stay focused on the main story or to jump back in after taking a short break to enjoy other content, with a clear marker always showing where you need to go and what you need to do next.
How Long it Takes to Do Everything (100%)
Of course, if you wish to do absolutely everything in Oninaki, the time frame is shifted quite a bit.
A completionist’s playthrough of Oninaki can last anywhere between 35 and 40 hours, depending on how long it takes you to complete every side mission and to max out all of the different Daemons.
Again though, this is strictly if you want to 100 percent complete the game, and is completely optional.
You’ll still get roughly the same experience from the game story-wise, save for a few bits of context or easter eggs added by characters from side missions.
That should cover everything there is to know about how long Oninaki is. For more on the game, check out the recent announcement that a new Daemon will be added to the game after launch.
