Rage 2: How to Upgrade Vehicles

Beyond just the furious gunplay in Rage 2, vehicular combat plays a massive role in the overall gameplay experience. Vehicles are used not just as transport (and as race cars) but also as a weapon platform that you can use to help obliterate Goon encampments too. Here’s how to upgrade vehicles in Rage 2 so you’re getting the most out of your trusty ride.

Vehicles are available to you right after the prologue sequence, and you’ll actually be able to view all of them from the vehicles menu from the get-go too. Simply access the menu and scroll across to the appropriate section to check them out.

Your base ride is pretty heavily outfitted as soon as you get it, complete with 20mm turrets that auto-lock, and a giant booster that turbocharges performance at the flip of a switch. That said, if you’re wanting even more firepower, protection, and speed, Rage 2 has you covered.

To access the upgrades screen, simply access the vehicle menu and press X (PS4)/A (Xbox One) to view the upgrades. You’re only able to upgrade the base vehicle in the game –other vehicles found across the world have their own unique abilities, but they can’t be upgraded.

You have access to extras like cruise missiles and thicker armor, which you can purchase in exchange for auto parts. Auto parts are a resource that’s found fairly generously around the open world, so it’s just a case of playing through the game and being diligent about smashing crates, looting storage containers, and generally working your way through the game.

That’s everything you should need to know about how to upgrade vehicles in Rage 2.
