Of course Road to the Show is back in MLB The Show 19. There are a few new features such as player relationships, less restrictive paradigms and more, but ultimately your goal is the same: getting called up in RTTS to eventually play in the major leagues and start your career in earnest. Here are our tips for getting called up in RTTS in MLB The Show 19 as quickly as possible.
Tip 1: Be Aware of the Big Changes and Create the Right Player
Training points are still gone, and your player naturally progresses based on their in-game actions. So if you show discipline at the plate and take good pitches, your plate discipline will go up. If you smash a home-run, you’ll increase your power, etc.
However, what is different this year after some negative fan feedback is the max caps have all been increase to 99. Previously you’d have to choose an archetype which would limit your ability to hit 99 in all categories.
You still need to pick an archetype, but it just effects the growth rate this year. So if you’re a Pure Power hitter, you’ll have an easier time hitting the 99 cap for your power attributes obviously, but baserunning-based ones will be tougher.
If your goal is to get to the majors as quickly as possible, which is probably everyone’s objective, pick a position that is in high demand and put yourself on a team that needs it. Don’t try and gun for Mike Trout’s slot, because it’s probably not going to happen any time soon.
Pick an archetype that matches your play style. It shouldn’t matter too much to the team that drafted you, but playing poorly will slow you down if you’re not playing to your strengths.
