Dead by Daylight is one of the most popular horror co-op games out there right now, thanks to its fun cast of survivors and even scarier and iconic cast of killers.
Here are four games like Dead by Daylight if you’re looking for something similar.
Friday the 13th
We can’t make a list like this without at least mentioning Friday the 13th. It could’ve been a worthy competitor to give Dead by Daylight a run for its money but alas, it just wasn’t meant to be.
Featuring Jason as the big bad killer, other players must take on the roles of the survivors as they try to escape him. The objectives in Friday the 13th are far more complex than just fixing generators in Dead by Daylight, and you have to do various things in sequence before you can escape.
This makes for a much more intense experience, but unfortunately, other balancing issues have led to the downfall of this game over time.
If you’re playing on a mobile device, Identity V is probably one of the best Dead by Daylight clones you can play right now.
The game features many similar elements, and is focused around the idea of survivors working together to escape a frightening killer. Identity V has a pretty nice cast of killers, all with their own different abilities and powers to try to outwit the survivors.
The controls aren’t the best on a mobile device, but it’s still a pretty fun title to check out if you’re looking for something quick and easy to jump into.
Left 4 Dead
An oldie, but still a goodie. Left 4 Dead doesn’t quite follow the same formula of trying to escape a singular, powerful killer, but it’s still one of the best cooperative horror games out there right now.
The cast of characters you can play as are pretty iconic at this point, and the various levels are so tightly designed that it never gets old playing them over and over again. The zombie types are also fairly varied, ensuring that you have different challenges to contend with every step of the way.
If you enjoy the cooperative aspect of Dead by Daylight, and don’t mind a little bit of gun action, Left 4 Dead is still a worthy contender.
Dying Light: Be the Zombie
The main game of Dying Light itself is nothing like Dead by Daylight, but the DLC packs come with an interesting mode called Be the Zombie.
The Night Hunter is an incredibly powerful infected zombie that can be controlled by a player, and it’s your job to invade other players’ game worlds while trying to hunt them down. On the flip side, the survivors will need to work together to set traps for the Hunter, while trying to find a way out.
