Developed by Bend Studio, Days Gone is a zombie game set in a post-apocalyptic version of Oregon. Players take control of protagonist Deacon St. John and get to ride around the open world on a motorcycle. Here’s how to use custom skins in Days Gone.
How to Use Custom Skins in Days Gone
Unlocking Custom Skins
As you progress through the main story of Days Gone, you’ll naturally begin to unlock custom skins and decals. Each time you unlock one, the game will inform you with a pop-up prompt, letting you know the name of the skin you just got.
All the custom skins in the game are for your motorcycle, and can be unlocked by completing the various storylines in the game. Most storylines are part of the main narrative in Days Gone, which means that you just need to play the main missions to unlock most of them.
However, there are some that are locked behind optional storylines, which involve you doing various activities like clearing all Freaker nests on the map, clearing all Hordes, or clearing all Ambush Camps. You can keep track of all your active storylines from the menu.
How to Use Them
As mentioned previously, the custom skins you get in Days Gone are for your motorcycle. It’s worth noting, though, that these decals are purely cosmetic and won’t affect your bike’s speed or performance at all.
To use them, all you have to do is visit any camp in the open world and talk to the garage vendor. From here, choose the Paint option and use the L2 or R2 buttons to swap between Decals and Custom Accents.
To use the custom skins, you’ll want to take a look at the Decals option to see all of the skins you’ve unlocked so far. Then, just choose the one you want to apply and press X, and you’re done.
That’s all you need to know about how to use custom skins in Days Gone. Be sure to check our Days Gone guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
