How to Sneak in One Piece World Seeker

Like many other open world action titles, One Piece: World Seeker has a stealth mechanic that can be crucial to completing certain missions. As such, players will want to know how to sneak efficiently to get through them without any headaches.

Offered as an alternative to charging in and clobbering enemies, sneaking functions the way most players would expect.

By staying out of an enemy’s line of sight, the player can sneak up behind them and deliver a takedown by pressing the square button to knock them out instantly.

This applies to almost any enemy, including bosses, making it an indispensable strategy if you’re aiming to get in and out of a scuffle quickly.

However, it does have its fair share of conditions to meet to pull it off properly, and keeping them in mind is crucial to sneaking effectively.

What You Need to Do to Sneak in One Piece World Seeker

For starters, there is no crouch or sneak mode you can enter to increase your chances of sneaking up on an enemy. Instead, the speed at which you walk affects how likely an enemy is to detect you.

When trying to sneak, push the left analog stick forward only slightly to make sure you maintain a slow walking speed. This should keep enemies from detecting you as quickly as they would if you ran.

Likewise, don’t approach an enemy from the front or the sides. The former is an obvious tactic to avoid, but enemies can occasionally appear to not notice you when you come at them from the left or right.

Finally, be aware of which mode you’re in when trying to sneak. Initially, you can only sneak and deliver stealth takedowns while in Observation Haki mode.

Stealth mode and stealth takedowns can be made available in Armament Haki mode in One Piece World Seeker, but only after unlocking a skill from the upper branch of the Armament Haki skill tree.

To that end, make sure you’re in Observation Haki mode whenever you want to sneak, or have unlocked the required skill for Armament Haki mode.

What Skills You Need

Speaking of skills, there are a select few that can make it easier to sneak in One Piece World Seeker. Key among them is the Aura Cloaking ability in the lowest branch of the Parameters skill tree. This lowers your chances of being detected by as much as 50 percent, and can be maxed out for a fairly low amount of skill points.

The consecutive takedown skill in the middle branch of the Observation Haki tree is also quite useful. It allows you to string together multiple takedowns if you’re near multiple enemies that haven’t detected you.

This can be upgraded too, allowing you to carry out as many as five takedowns in a row before having to return to basic sneaking.

Both of these skills are indispensable if you’re having trouble sneaking, and can put you well on your way to mastering the mechanic.
