How to Start Link Missions & What They Are in Devil May Cry 5
Devil May Cry 5 brings back the stylish action series for the first mainline entry in ten years, once again starring Nero and Dante. While the franchise has, and still is, a single player series, DMC 5 features a little bit of online connectivity, although not multiplayer. Here’s how to start Link Missions and what they are in Devil May Cry 5.
First things first we should clarify, Devil May Cry 5 does not have any form of straight-up multiplayer, but you will be able to connect with other players in something called Link Missions.
What Link Missions Are
If you go to the mission select screen you’ll see a little wireless symbol on the picture for some missions and when you select the mission it’ll say Link Mission in the bottom right corner.
Essentially these missions are connecting you with other players, who are playing through different parts of the game that take place at the same time.
You won’t be able to interact with these players, but you can see them fighting in other areas at certain points. Periodically in missions you’ll see a notice pop up on the left side of the screen that says “Starring” and a name below it.
If this says The DMC Boys it means you haven’t linked with another player, however, if you have linked the player’s name will be displayed here.
At the end of a Link Mission, you’ll be able to rate players as “Stylish” and they can do the same for you. If you rate enough player you’ll receive a Gold Orb, and for every player that rates you, you’ll receive another Gold Orb.
How to Start Them
First off you’ll want to go to the Options menu on the main menu, then select Network. Make sure that you have the option to connect with other players enabled and you will, of course, have to be online.
Not every mission in Devil May Cry 5 is a Link Mission, but any that are will automatically connect you to the network at the start of the mission, and match you with other players. Here’s a full list of the Link Missions in the game.
