Here’s everything you need to know about how to charge and break Devil Breakers as Nero in Devil May Cry 5.

As you explore DMC 5‘s setting, Red Grave City, as Nero, you’ll be taking on the many demons with his abilities. However, instead of his demonic arm from previous games, this time around he has mechanical Devil Breaker arms that all have different uses.

What Devil Breakers Do

There are eight that are unlocked in Devil May Cry 5’s main story, on top of four more that can be added by purchasing the Deluxe Edition.

Each one does something different, such as shooting out lightning towards enemies or launching a sphere that slows down time, and is used by pressing circle (B if you’re on Xbox One). However, you can only use the Devil Breaker that is in the first equipped slot, so you cannot swap between them as you play.

How to Break Them in Devil May Cry 5

If you want to get rid of one of your Devil Breakers, you can press L1 (LB on Xbox One) to destroy it with a blast. The blast damages enemies that surround you, as well as destroying it.

Breaking one of them in Devil May Cry 5 can also be used to escape from enemies that have grabbed you or trapped you in a corner.

Alternatively, you can destroy one of your Devil Breakers by holding down circle (B) until Nero’s arm glows. You will then be able to use its ultimate attack, destroying it in the process.

The ultimate abilities for them in Devil May Cry 5 differ too, ranging from things like shooting out a giant laser to sticking to an enemy and exploding after 20 seconds.

That’s everything you need to know about how to charge and break Devil Breakers as Nero in Devil May Cry 5. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our wiki guide or search for Twinfinite.
