Season 7 of Fortnite is officially no more, putting an end to its wintery theme. In comes Fortnite Season 8, bringing a whole new theme and a bunch of cosmetics for players to enjoy. Of course, if you want to get all these new cosmetics, you’ll need the Battle Pass. Here’s how to get the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass.

There are actually two different ways you can get the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass, one of which actually gets you it for free, too. We’ll run you through the exact steps you need to take to get the battle pass either for free or by buying it down below.

Getting the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass for Free

  • Complete 13 of 16 Overtime challenges in Season 7.
  • Load up Fortnite after the Season 8 update and load up Battle Royale.
  • You’ll be awarded your free Battle Pass.

First things first, you’ll need to have taken part in Fortnite’s Overtime Challenges that appeared in the additional two weeks of Season 7. These aren’t all that difficult, but if you can complete 13 out of the 16 available, you’ll net yourself the Battle Pass for free.

Keep in mind, though, you’ve only got until the end of Season 7 early on Feb. 28 to complete these challenges.

As long as you’ve completed the required challenges, all you’ll need to do is log into Fortnite once Season 8 goes live and you’ll be informed that you’ve been given the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass for free.

Buying the Battle Pass

Alternatively, if you simply didn’t play in Season 7, or you just didn’t manage to complete enough of the Overtime challenges in time, you can still buy the Battle Pass.

To do this, you’ll first need to ensure you’ve got enough V-Bucks on your account. These can be purchased by heading to the ‘Store’ tab from the ‘Lobby’ by pressing L1/ LB and R1/ RB. You’ll need 950 V-Bucks to just buy the Season 8 Battle Pass, or you can get the Battle Bundle for 2,800 V-Bucks.

The latter option here grants you the Battle Pass (of course), as well as a 25-Tier head start, meaning you’ll have a bunch of cosmetics right from the get-go. It also takes some of the stress of completing weekly challenges off you if you’re wanting to reach Tier 100, too.

That’s all you need to know about how to get the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass. For more tips, tricks, and guides on this new season, be sure to check out our Fortnite Season 8 guide wiki coming very soon.
