How to Inspect Weapons in Apex Legends

As the newcomer to the battle royale party, Apex Legends has its work cut out for it. That hasn’t stopped it from going all out with unique legends to choose from, a diverse map, tight shooting, and detailed visuals. Those visuals are so detailed, that some players may even want to get a closer look. Here’s how to inspect weapons in Apex Legends.

For those unaware, let’s quickly run you through what inspecting weapons does. In short, it makes your character raise their weapon closer to the first-person camera, enabling you to get a closer look at the detailing on the side of your weapon. It doesn’t give you any buff or benefit in Apex Legends, it’s just nice to ogle at your fancy-skinned weapon.

To inspect weapons in Apex Legends, all you need to do is press and hold left on the d-pad on Xbox One and PS4, and press N on PC. This will result in your character lifting their weapon to the screen, as you can see in our screenshot below.

When you’re all done inspecting your weapon in Apex Legends, simply wait for the animation to finish, or press your weapon change input (Triangle/ Y/ numbered key etc.) to switch out to your other weapon.
