There are a number of different items you’ll pick up in Resident Evil 2 and you’ll have to figure out what to do with them. Some of these are simple puzzle pieces you can easily figure out what to do with, others are less obvious. Here’s all roll film locations in Resident Evil 2, as well as what they actually do in the game.

What They Do & Why They’re Important

First, let’s talk about what it is exactly that Roll Films do in Resident Evil 2. Chances are, as you first begin exploring the police station, you’ll have stumbled upon the Dark Room in the west wing. This is somewhere you’re going to want to return to whenever you find one of these rolls.

That’s because the Dark Room is used to develop these Roll Films. Simply head into the sink in the very back of the room, press X on PS4 or A on Xbox One, and select the Roll Film to ‘Use’ it with the sink. This will then develop a ‘Commemorative Photo’ which hints at the location of a hidden item in Resident Evil 2.

Acquiring two of these hidden items from the commemorative photos will net you the ‘Treasure Hunter’ trophy or achievement. As such, if you’re going full the full sweep of trophies and achievements, you’ll want to know the Roll Film locations.

Down below, we’ve included a quick breakdown of all Roll Film locations we’ve found so far. We’ve also provided images a little further down the page to help you track them down, should you be struggling.

  • Safety Deposit Room Locker 106
  • In the Lounge, you’ll find another one of them located directly opposite the Unicorn Statue. Keep in mind, this one is only available in Scenario B.
  • In the Firing Range on the east side of the Police Station, you’ll find this Roll Film behind the locked door that requires the Diamond Key.
  • In the Work Room in the Sewers. This is the room directly left of the bridge activated by the Rook Plug.
  • After getting the previous Roll Film, you’ll need to leave that room, and head into the room directly opposite you. Move the cabinet to access another shortcut elevator that will take you back to the station. Use the T-bar handle to open the Medallion door that leads you to the Main Hall. Head to the Dark Room to develop the film. This will show a photo of Wesker’s desk in the STARS Office. Head up here, examine his desk and get a wooden box. You’ll find another Roll Film in here, but there’s no button prompt. Pick it up anyway for a secret Easter Egg in Resident Evil 2.
