In order to perform a dive attack, you have to jump off of a really tall building or platform. Once you are falling off of this high place, Sora will spread his arms and legs and fall directly face-down towards the ground.

Pressing the attack button during this sequence will allow you to attack enemies with a super strong dive attack and will also allow you to break special chests in each world that contain rare items and materials.
