How to Get Past the Tornado in Darksiders 3

If you’re like most Darksiders 3 players, then the Lowlands tornado hazard has likely given you plenty of headaches. Fortunately, we’ve got you covered with a guide on how to get past the tornado in Darksiders 3.

An area specific hazard much like the Kraken, Darksiders 3’s tornado only appears in the Lowlands area. It ravages the desert wastes and kills anything it touches, forcing you to stay underground via buried subway tunnels whenever possible.

That said, there are portions of the level that require you to go above ground. This will leave you vulnerable to a one hit environmental kill by the hazard, and if you don’t know where to go, it’s all but assured.

As such, the best way to get past the tornado in Darksiders 3 is to take your time before going above ground. Every subway entrance and exit will face the subsequent underground entrance, so if you don’t see it at first, take a moment to find it.

After you do, wait for the tornado to move as far away from you as possible before emerging. This will give you the maximum amount of time to reach the next subway entrance and give you some leeway if you get caught on any geometry.

Once above ground, hold down R3 for PlayStation 4 or the right stick for Xbox One to sprint. You can also dodge forward repeatedly, though this does pose more of a risk than maintaining a sprint.

Rinse and repeat for each above ground section, and before long you’ll reach a portion of the Darksiders 3 that allows you to eliminate the tornado permanently.

You’ll know you’ve reached it when Fury‘s dialogue triggers saying she’ll eliminate the tornado for good. This is done by igniting a trail of oil with the flame hollow ability, which burns away the tornado and leaves the area free to explore at your leisure.

Hopefully this helps you get past the tornado in Darksiders 3 a little more quickly. Darksiders 3 is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For more on the game, check out our full review of the title’s strengths and weaknesses.
