Since getting Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze for the Wii U back in 2014 and then this year on the Switch, we really haven’t seen anything new from Retro Studios and it’s truly upsetting.

Even though they created the Metroid Prime trilogy, Retro isn’t working on the upcoming Metroid Prime 4, which is… odd, but we’ll take Nintendo’s word for it considering the quality run of Nintendo exclusives we’ve seen on the Switch so far.

That leaves the big question: what is Retro Studios cooking up? Is it a reboot of another forgotten Nintendo franchise like F-Zero? Or a new IP perhaps?

Whatever it may be, here’s hoping we see something brand new from this Nintendo subsidiary sometime in 2019.
