How to Get & Use Bandana in Red Dead Online
One of the first things you’re told in Red Dead Redemption 2 is that wearing a bandana can help hide your identity when you’re up to no good. Be it robbing trains, holding up stores, or just going around murdering innocent people, donning a bandana makes you that little bit more difficult to identify. As such, you’re probably wondering how to get and use a bandana in Red Dead Online.
Unfortunately, unlike in Red Dead Redemption 2 where you had a bandana available to you from the start, you’ll need to go ahead and buy one in Red Dead Online.
There are actually a number of different bandanas you can purchase, but the very first and most basic one is available to you from the very start. As long as you have the cash to spend, that is.
To get a bandana in Red Dead Online, first press and hold left on the d-pad to open your Catalog. From here, you want to select Clothing, and then Accessories within the sub-contents. Alongside some gloves, you’ll come across the standard bandana at the bottom of one page. It’ll set you back $20.25.
If you’ve got enough money, you can press A on Xbox One to view and purchase the item, or X on PS4.
You’re not limited to just the one style of bandana in Red Dead Online, though. There are a few different variations of this handy accessory available to you in Red Dead Online’s catalog. Problem is, you’ll need to reach certain ranks within Red Dead Online before you’ll even be given the option to spend your hard-earned cash on them.

Once you’ve purchased the bandana you’re after in Red Dead Online, to equip it, you’re going to follow the same steps you did to do so in Red Dead Redemption 2. But first, you need to add it to your outfit.
To do this, you’re going to have to head to your camp. This is marked on your map by the blue tent icon. Head here, and walk right over to the blue tent icon. It should lead you to a roll-out bed on the floor, as well as some other bits and pieces lying around it. Press X on Xbox One or Square on PS4 when given the option to access your wardrobe. Select the bandanas option and then press A or X in order to equip it until your character can be seen donning it.
With the bandana to your outfit, press LB on Xbox One or L1 on PS4 to open up your weapon wheel, then press RB or R1 to tab over to the Items wheel. Now, move your right analog stick to the 7 o’clock position, and you should now be able to use the LT / L2 and RT/ R2 buttons to select your bandana. Once it’s shown in this segment of the item wheel, release LB or L1 and you’ll equip it.
