How to Get Squirtle in Pokemon Let’s Go
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee are finally out, and while random battle encounters are out, you can still catch them all. Squirtle is no longer a starter in this iteration of Kanto, but it’s still obtainable. Here’s how to get Squirtle in Pokemon Let’s Go.
Squirtle is a Water-type Pokemon that evolves into Wartortle at level 16, and Blastoise at level 36. Overall, especially as far as the Kanto-dex goes, this evolutionary line of Pokemon are solid.
Squirtle is a very helpful member to have on your team in many of the gym fights, especially early on if you can get it. Between Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, and other useful moves that Blastoise is capable of learning, its a powerful Pokemon to have later on as well.
To get Squirtle in Pokemon Let’s Go, you need to search in the following areas:
- Route 24
- Route 25
- Seafoam Islands
- In Vermillion City, Officer Jenny will hand one over to you if you have caught at least 60 Pokemon.
What’s especially nice about the “tiny turtle” Pokemon, is that when it’s fully evolved, it can also mega evolve into Mega-Blastoise.
It doesn’t gain any new typings as Mega-Blastoise, it’s still just mono-type Water, but it gains extra stats.
Overall as a type, Water is very reliable. It’s a decent defensive typing, only having to worry about Grass and Electric, and can put a hurting on Fire, Rock, and Ground. In general, fully evolved Water types have solid base stats, and Blastoise is no exception.
