Helix or Dome Fossil: Which Should You Get in Pokemon Let’s Go?
Since Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee are essentially prettier remakes of Pokemon Yellow, which released all the way back in 1998, you’ll be faced with many of the same tricky decisions you were faced with when you first played the original. You won’t have to choose your starter, thankfully, but you will have to decide between the Helix and Dome Fossil items at one point. Here’s everything you need to know about which you should choose.
You get to choose between the Helix and Dome Fossils in Mt. Moon, after you defeat a particular trainer. You’re only able to get one because the trainer will take the other. The choice matters because it changes which Pokemon you will get from the fossil.
Which You Should Choose
The Dome Fossil will see you get Kabuto, which evolves into Kabutops, and the Helix Fossil will see you get Omanyte, which evolves into Omastar.
Which you choose depends on which Pokemon you prefer. Neither of them are fan favorites, particularly, nor do they generally offer move types that are particularly powerful, but you may be looking for a certain type to round out your squad.
Both of the Pokemon are dual Water and Rock types, so the moves they learn will be quite similar, but Omanyte tends to lean more heavily on the Water-type moves, so that may be the best choice if you have a gap for that type Pokemon in your battle line-up.
You will be able to transfer the other ‘mon over from Pokemon Go, however, should you want to.
How to Get the Pokemon From Them
Once you have picked which one you want, you need to take them to the Pokemon Lab on Cinnabar Island. When you use them in there, the Dome and Helix Fossils can be transformed into Kabuto and Omanyte, respectively. You will then be able to add them to your party and evolve them as they are leveled up.
That’s everything you need to know about the Helix and Dome Fossil items and which you should choose. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our Pokemon Let’s Go wiki guide. We have also listed some other helpful guides down below to get you started.
