Red Dead Redemption 2 is a sprawling open world with a variety of quests, challenges and other activities. A game with this much to do can make trophy or achievement hunting a lengthy process. Since trophies and achievements are often tied to difficulty settings, those looking to 100% games need to know whether or not they should play on a harder setting. Here’s everything you need to know on whether or not you can change difficulty in Red Dead Redemption 2, and if there’s a trophy or achievement tied to playing through the game on a tougher difficulty setting.

Luckily for trophy and achievement hunters, there’s no option for changing the difficulty in Red Dead Redemption 2 before or after you start the game. This means that everyone who plays Red Dead Redemption 2 will be on the same setting.

Of course, this also means that there is not a difficulty trophy or achievement, so there’s no need to worry about that.

If you’re concerned about the game being too hard, however, there are other ways of making your experience more comfortable. Previous Rockstar games like Grand Theft Auto and even the first Red Dead Redemption have always included cheats that let you get weapons, money, etc. for free.

Using cheats like this is an easy way of simplifying the game and tailoring it to what you want. While there isn’t a built-in difficulty setting, cheats can serve a similar function by taking away some of the challenge and grind for abilities and weapons.

While we know that Red Dead Redemption 2 definitely has cheats, we’re yet to be able to uncover exactly how to unlock them or what the codes are to enable them in the game.

Once we’ve got this cracked, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.

That’s all you need to know about whether or not there’s a difficulty trophy in Red Dead Redemption 2. If you’re looking for more tips, tricks, and information out in the wild west, be sure to check out our complete Red Dead Redemption 2 guide wiki.
