Ninjin: Clash of Carrots
This side-scroller from Pocket Trap combines bunnies and ninjas in a colorful and engaging anime beat-em-up style.
Work your way through various enemies to collect carrots stolen by the villainous Shogun Moe, which can then be used a currency to purchase new over 150 pieces of equipment for your characters.
Along with single-player, you can also engage in two-player online or local co-op for the entire mainline campaign.
There is also a ‘Oni TV Show’ survival mode where players group up to fight an endless mob of enemies for more rare rewards to then use in the campaign.
Ninjin: Class of Carrots released for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch early in the month on Sept. 4.

Yo-Kai Watch Blasters: White Dog Squad/Red Cat Corps
A spin-off of popular RPG Yo-Kai Watch, Blasters has you fight boss battle as Yo-Kai in three different modes including patrol where control an area of enemies, story where you work through a campaign, and finally big boss where you fight larger and stronger Yo-Kai adversaries.
Four-player online co-op can allow you to sync up with others to fight Yo-Kai together with your own fighters. However, in order to play local four-player co-op you will need to connect via a local/ad-hoc connection.
Red Cat Corps and White Dog Squad released exclusively for 3DS on Sept. 7. An additional update mode titled Moon Rabbit Crew released later in the month on Sept. 27 with new VIP missions, Yo-Kai, and Big Boss battles.

Catastronauts
From the makers of Overcooked comes a very similar experience where instead of running a kitchen your running a space station against alien enemies.
With the same top-down format and hectic co-op gameplay, you and your friends try and manage repairing space systems, extinguishing fires, arming torpedoes, avoiding deadly solar flares, and more together as a unit.
Up to four players can play local co-op, with online not supported. If you enjoyed Overcooked but are looking for some variety in gameplay with teamwork fun then this is the game for you and your friends.

FIFA 19
One larger title that’s ripe with co-op fun released last month is FIFA 19, offering online and couch co-op that’s customary of the series.
Along with the usual online multiplayer inclusion, couch co-op is easier than ever in the FIFA series as this time around players can transfer their FIFA online ID’s between consoles.
This way, you don’t have to sacrifice progress on your own FIFA account if you and a friend would rather play together on the same couch.
Along with the usual classic match modes, FIFA 19 also offers stat tracking available in the Kick-Off mode only accessible offline.
With stat-tracking the game closely monitors every goal, tackle, possession percentage, and more for those competitive friends who want to show off their winning stats and rub in the win a bit more.
FIFA 19 released on September 28 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Speed Brawl
Speed Brawl is a momentum-based 2D brawler where your speed will help you climb walls and navigate your environment as you work your way through various enemies set in a fictional 1888 London.
You can replay levels attempting to get faster and faster every time, using items in your environment to propel yourself forwards.
You can play through the entire campaign yourself, or tag-team the enemies with a friend in two-player local co-op and online as well.
Speed Brawl released for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on Sept. 18.

Timespinner
Timespinner has you play as Lunais who is attempting seek revenge on the evil Lachiem Empire using her super ability to freeze time.
You use this ability to fight your way out of tough situations in beautiful pixelated worlds from the same publisher behind Stardew Valley and Risk of Rain.
The game doesn’t focus too heavily on co-op gameplay, but you can still play with a friend in two-player local co-op where one person controls Lunais and the other player controls her familiar who can help by also attacking enemies.

NBA 2K19
Another sports game and our final best co-op game making up the list is the highly anticipated NBA 2K19.
There’s quite a few new inclusions to the game’s normal multiplayer formula to ensure you pick up this latest edition and not just stick to your 2K18 copy.
Along with reduced clipping for more immersion and improved overall graphics, a new three-on-three mode called Triple Threat allows you and a friend to choose your three best player cards and go head to head with a smaller team.
A new Unlimited Mode where you construct your team from scratch and compete in five-versus-five gameplay, and you can play simple unranked games with your friends as well.
PARK also returns with improvements, allowing for immersive street ball gameplay for a more low-key game between friends.
NBA 2K19 released for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on September 7 for early access through the 20th Anniversary Edition pre-order, with a full release following on September 11.
