How to Get Malachite Ore in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate

After the overwhelming success of Monster Hunter: World earlier this year, the series returns to a Nintendo platform once again with Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on Switch. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is an enhanced and expanded port of the game that originally released on 3DS, and while it may not feature some of the big changes made in World, it’s still a Monster Hunter experience through and through. A big part of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will come down to improving your weapons and armor, which you’ll need plenty of resources for, including the all-important malachite ore.

While iron ore can definitely get you through early on, as you make progress in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate you’ll want to get your hands on rarer materials like malachite ore. Luckily it’s easy enough to get. While out exploring the different maps just keep an eye out for shining rock nodes. Any of these have a chance of giving you malachite ore, and they’re more often than not found in cave areas. You’ll need to bring a pickaxe or two with you to make sure you’re able to mine the nodes, or you can use Prowler Mode to take control of your Felyne friend.

Each time you go out on a mission you can generally find a pickaxe in your supply box. If there isn’t one, however, it’s easy to craft one, as all you’ll need is a mystery bone and a piece of iron ore or malachite ore. It’s generally a good idea to craft a few, just so you don’t find yourself unable to mine when you’ve found a node.

That’s all you need to know about getting malachite ore in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. For more tips, tricks, and guides on the game make sure to search Twinfinite, and take a look at our wiki guide.
