Dead Cells: How to Get Spider Rune

How to Get Spider Rune in Dead Cells

Recommended Videos

While Dead Cells is first and foremost a roguelike game, you can get permanent upgrades that allow you to start following runs with new skills. One of those upgrades is gained from finding the Spider Rune, and it can be very helpful in seeing you get further in subsequent runs. Here’s everything you need to know about what the Spider Rune does, and how you get it.

The Spider Rune can be found in Slumbering Sanctuary once you’ve defeated The Concierge, Dead Cells’ first boss, at The Black Bridge. The Rune allows you to run up walls and jump between walls, helping you get to different areas and get some height over enemies in other areas. You’ll need to defeat the Orb Caster that you find in The Slumbering Sanctuary. It is an elite enemy, so will put up quite a fight, but dodging and ranged weapons are your friends here. Thankfully, once you’ve defeated the Orb Caster once, you won’t have to face him again. The Spider Rune also allows you to get to The Graveyard and The Prison Depths after you’ve beaten The Concierge at The Black Bridge.

You probably saw areas at the bottom of the Toxic Sewers, Prisoners’ Quarters, and The Promenade of the Condemned that you weren’t able to get to in your earlier Dead Cells runs. They would usually have one tall wall that blocked you jumping over because you cannot get high enough. You will finally be able to reach these areas once you have the Spider Rune, so it has uses beyond simply unlocking new regions you couldn’t get to before.

That’s all you need to know about how to get the Spider Rune in Dead Cells. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
