The latest entry in the venerable fighting game series has arrived, as Dead or Alive 6 has been made official prior to E3 2018. This is the latest game to make its debut ahead of the trade show, which is fast approaching, and it’s a pretty big announcement!
This will be the first entry in the series since 2015’s Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, and according to an early hands-on look via IGN, it’s meant to be a much more “mature” riff on the fast-paced series this time around. Dead or Alive 6 will feature more of a focus on story-based and offline modes in a bit to please longtime fans who enjoy getting into the series via multi-faceted characters, lore, and the overall aesthetic of the game as well, so expect this entry to have a more robust story mode.
The trailer shows off familiar characters like Ryu Hayabusa, Zack, Jann Lee, Helena, Kasumi, and Hayate, as well as a host of furious fights that look just as explosive as we’re used to from the series. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything even resembling a complete roster out just yet, but we should be seeing plenty of familiar faces and even a smattering of new characters, if we’re lucky.
Dead or Alive 6 is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in early 2019. We can likely expect to hear more about the game this coming week with E3 2018 in full swing.
