While it has been out for a while on PC, Dauntless is finally available as a free to play title on consoles. Here’s everything you need to know about how to change weapons and equip armor in Dauntless.
How to Equip Armor Change Weapons in Dauntless
As in other monster hunting type games, like, um, Monster Hunter, in Dauntless, you have an arsenal of weapon types to choose from each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and play styles. For example, you can opt for the Sword, which is a balance between speed and power and is an easy weapon for newcomers to try out.
There’s the War Pike which is great for creating weak points and assisting with breaking behemoths. And also, if you like slow and powerful weapons, there’s the Hammer which, while being clumsy but devastatingly powerful, has a shotgun attachment feature as well. Pretty neat!
While you’ll quickly develop your favorites as you play, you might be wondering how to change weapons in case you change your mind, or just want to try something new depending on the behemoth your fighting and your team’s strategy.
Changing Weapons on PC
To change weapons in Dauntless, press Escape while in Ramsguard and then press L or click Loadout. From here, you can see all your weapons and armor.
To change your weapon, click whatever weapon is currently equipped on the top left of the screen, to see all your available weapons. Click on one of the categories of weapons to see what choices you have there, and then left click the one you want to equip. Simple as that!
Console Version
If you’re playing on console, press the Options button on PlayStation 4 (menu if you’re on Xbox One), then head to Loadout from that menu.
Here, you’ll be able to see all of your weapons and armor that you have equipped at the time. To change weapons or equip different armor, select the one you want to replace with X on PlayStation 4 (A on Xbox One) and then select the one you want to replace it with.
If you have any mods equipped to the piece of gear, that’s what will appear with the first press, so just press it again to bring up the inventory to swap it.
