How to Fish With a Fishing Rod in Dynasty Warriors 9
Whenever you’re not taking down thousands of enemies around feudal China in Dynasty Warriors 9, you’re doing surprisingly normal tasks. You know, stuff like owning a home, cooking, and yes, even fishing. Here’s how to fish in the game.
First, it’s important to distinguish that the fishing rod isn’t something you can equip in Dynasty Warriors 9, so don’t fret about not really seeing that. What can be equipped, though, are different kinds of bait. Each one will allow you to catch different kinds of fish, and you’ll be able to equip these via the in-game menu by pressing Start or Options. Then, you need to tab over until you’re in the character info screen, and select “Equipment” there. Choose the bait in the items section in Dynasty Warriors 9, and you’ll have them in your quick select section found in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
Simply scroll through that by pressing left or right on your d-pad while you’re walking around, and leave the kind of bait you want to use highlighted. Next, make sure you’re standing facing a body of water (either a lake or river) and push up on your d-pad. Your character will take a fishing rod out of their butt and cast the line. When you get a bite, you’re going to see the prompt asking you to mash X if you’re on Xbox One or Square on PS4. Do as the prompt says and, if you’re successful, you’ll reel in a fish.
