Monster Hunter World is a pretty fun game whether you’re playing solo or with friends. Regardless of how you play, though, you’ll need to be connected to Monster Hunter World’s servers at all times. Of course, with this being a major new release, all of the players bombarding the servers at once seem to be causing error code 5038f-MW1 to be plaguing some hunters when trying to join their friends’ games.

If you’re greeted with error code 5038f-MW1 when playing Monster Hunter World, unfortunately, outside of closing the app and restarting the game on your console, there’s not a whole lot you can do. The launch day strain is taking its toll on the servers, and, as a result, we can expect Capcom to hopefully fix things up on their end so it’ll be smooth sailing from here on out.

Regarding other online server and connection issues in Monster Hunter World, the official Twitter account has tweeted out the same advice of closing and relaunching the game if you struggle to accept event quests, so keep this in mind if you’re running into issues over and over.

That’s all we know so far about fixing error code 5038f-MW1 for now. For more on the game, be sure to check out our comprehensive wiki.
