Permissions to Access Online Multiplayer Have Changed Error in Destiny 2
Destiny 2 is out and as you may imagine, some launch week server woes have impacted the game. Destiny 2 is incredibly popular, so login issues aren’t entirely unexpected. It’s a reality that many gamers in 2017 by now have probably come to accept.
Specifically there is a new error that has popped up that tells players that they have lost connection to the Destiny 2 servers and “permissions to access online multiplayer may have changed or your profile may have been signed in elsewhere.”
If you’re getting this error, at least as of Sept. 6, you probably don’t have anything to worry about on your end. There isn’t anything you’re doing wrong, nothing is probably broken, and probably no one is logged into your account.
This is a widespread issue that has been addressed by Bungie via Bungie’s Twitter Support account.
As of right now there is no fix that has been announced by Bungie. Currently they are investigating the issue. Should a solution arise, we’ll update this post. So check back either here or at Bungie Help. If you’re getting this error after the initial widespread report of it on Sept. 6, visit Bungie Support to contact them to help fix your problem.
The only thing you can do right now is continue to try and log in. Give restarting your PlayStation 4 a try and see if that works. If not, you’ll probably just have to hang tight and try later.
