Zelda Breath of the Wild: How to Side Hop

How to Side Hop – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Recommended Videos

There are a variety of different combat based techniques in The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, and one of the most powerful is the Side Hop. This evasive maneuver not only allows Link to avoid an attack, but follow up with a Flurry Rush attack that can deal a hefty amount of damage to an enemy. To perform this move, you will need to be locked onto the enemy with the left trigger and then tap the left stick to the right or left. As soon as you tap the stick, hit the X button to perform a side hop and send Link rolling around the enemy.

Doing this will leave you a nice opening to launch a series of strikes and either kill or weaken the foe you’re fighting. Timing is everything so try and use this move right as the enemy attacks to ensure their guard isn’t up. Always make sure to utilize this move right away to gauge your target’s defense and how you need to approach them in combat. Side Hop is wonderful, and combining this with either a parry or Flurry Rush will help you easily turn the tide of battle and make a fool of the poor foes who dared to challenge you in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
