Zelda Breath of the Wild: How to Upgrade Armor and Outfits

Upgrade Armor and Outfits – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Recommended Videos

It’s already known that your weapons aren’t the most reliable things in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, breaking on Link at the most inopportune of moments and forcing him to think on the fly. While weapons may have you scurrying for replacements, your armor is completely different. You can actually obtain upgrades for your clothing, and after a couple they’ll even gain new perks.

In order to upgrade armor and outfits, you must first reawaken the Great Fairy Cotera. She can be found up the hill from Tal’oh Neag Shrine which is located in Kakariko Village. Explore the forest and look for a clearing where you’ll find a flower pod where she’ll be sitting inside. You can’t miss her, she’s called a fairy but she’s a giant compared to Link. For 100 Rupees you can reawaken her abilities which will allow her to upgrade your gear as long as you have the required resources (usually parts of monsters). After two upgrades for a piece, it will obtain a new perk, not too shabby, eh?
