Earlier today, Blizzard revealed the next hero for Overwatch, a robot named Orisa. Created by 11-year-old Efi Oladele, the metal centaur was designed as a force for good. But she also totally could have been in the recently released Horizon Zero Dawn.
Guerrilla Games’ open world action-RPG takes place a thousand years in the future, in a time where robotic animals have taken over the earth. Some looks like bulls, such as the Striders. Others like saber-tooth tigers, like the Sawtooths. And if a robot centaur showed up, Aloy probably wouldn’t be surprised.
Given how well she’s managed to tame other machines in Horizon Zero Dawn (and assuming that there’s not a failsafe that won’t end with Aloy being trampled to death), it probably wouldn’t be too difficult for Aloy to take this new robot out for a spin. Plus, since Orisa comes with a machine gun and a shield in Overwatch, she wouldn’t really have a use for her bow and arrow anymore. Machine gun beats bow and arrow every time.
That said, she’d also be stealing, and from a kid, no less. That’s a pretty big dick move, Aloy, and Efi could probably just make you one of your own if you asked. After all, Orisa’s too cute to be contained to just one machine.
Sadly, we’ll never get to find out. Not unless Guerrilla decides to team up with Blizzard and give Horizon Zero Dawn a pretty cool crossover with Overwatch for some DLC they’re working on. Between this and CD Projekt Red, who would’ve thought that Guerrilla would start getting great crossover material with their new game only two days after release.
