How to Equip Modifications – Horizon Zero Dawn
You may have noticed that you’ve been picking up modifications as you make your way through Horizon Zero Dawn. As you may have guessed, these can be used with your weapons and armor to buff Aloy even further.
The improvements that the grant Aloy’s weapons and armor will vary depending on the type that you pick up. Some may offer an improvement in the way the weapon handles, while others may increase fire damage. In order to equip modifications in Horizon Zero Dawn, you’ll first need to go to the Crafting menu and go to either Modify Weapons or Modify Outfits, depending on which you want to equip a modification to. Once you’ve selected your weapon, you should see gray circles. Simply press X on one of these and then select the modification you want to equip to the weapon.
It’s worth noting, however, that one a modification has been installed on a weapon or an outfit that it cannot be removed. Replacing it with another mod will result in you losing that mod permanently. You can remove and reuse modifications if you get the Tinker skill, however. It’ll cost you three points and you’ll need to have unlocked the skills before it, but it’s certainly worth it.
