Save – Mafia III
The worst thing that can happen while playing a game as large as Mafia III is to progress really far only to die or turn the game off while forgetting to save. Hours of hard work can be lost in an instant and that can be very disappointing. Thankfully, that won’t happen with Mafia III, as saving is handled by the game itself and it seems to do a very good job with checkpoints.
After clearing areas, watching a cutscene, or completing a mission, the game will automatically save your progress. You’ll know when it’s being saved because you’ll see a glowing “III” in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. When it disappears, that means it’s all saved and you can quit or continue as you please.
There is no option for a manual save, though, so be aware of that. But if you really have to go, just continue far enough until you see the save icon flash.
