First things first, you’ll need to find a Pokestop. Pokestops can be identified on your map by looking for the blue circle with a Pokeball in the center. Once you’ve spotted one on the map it’s time to head out on your first trip.

Pokestops are often monuments, landmarks, or places of interest within the area, so this should give you a good idea as to where you might find one. Once you’ve got there, make sure you head pretty close up to it in order for Pokemon GO to realize you’re within proximity.

Then, simply swipe your finger across the little image of the landmark or place in the circle and watch the bubbled items fly off. Tap the bubbles to add the items to your inventory. Pokestops can give you all kinds of items, but many of them won’t be unlocked until you reach level 5. Better get trainin’!
