Arrow’s Stephen Amell Wants to Be in WWE 2K16

Arrow vs. Terminator? Yes, please.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

Stephen Amell, who plays DC superhero Green Arrow on television, is a long-time fan of professional wrestling and actually jumped into the ring during this week’s Raw match to get some hits in on Stardust following unexpected provocation (read: a slap to the face). The video clip, which you can check out above, is all kinds of amazing. This happening has resulted in Amell partnering up with Neville (not that Neville) in a tag team bout against King Barrett (not that Barret) and Stardust during the WWE SummerSlam less than two weeks away.

So what does this have to do with video games?

Simple. After Amell posted the above video to his official Facebook page, fan Andrew Hancock left a comment stating that he would totally buy the upcoming WWE 2K16 if Stephen Amell or Green Arrow were playable in it. Amell replied with two little words leaving fans excited and hopeful: “On it.”

Stephen Amell - "On It"

Of course with WWE 2K16 mere months away from launch, adding a new fighter this late in the game would likely be a major undertaking. Such is the glory, however, of living in the DLC age. With Amell actually taking part in a legitimate WWE match it certainly seems like a possibility. Amell has previously provided the voice for Green Arrow in Injustice: Gods Among Us and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, so he’s no stranger to lending his talents to video games. Plus the recent announcement that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator would be joining the game’s roster shows that 2K Sports aren’t afraid to have a little fun with their line-up.

Would you like to see Stephen Amell/Green Arrow make his way into WWE 2K16? Sound off in the comments, and grab the game on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, or Xbox One when it releases on Oct. 27.
