Set Up Your Network ID
Before you can even think of earning Fight Money in Street Fighter V, you’re going to have to set up your Network ID. This is separate from your PSN account or Steam ID. Capcom will ask you to make a unique one for yourself that must be logged in for you to reap the rewards of your actions.
You can still play the game offline to your heart’s content, but know that you won’t be getting anything for it. No experience, no Fight Money, and, by extension, no unlockables. So make sure to set this up when prompted, and make sure that it is signed in whenever you’re going to do anything.
Story Time
There are 16 playable characters in Street Fighter V, and each one has their own little story for you to play through. Completing these will net you some Fight Money that you can use to unlock clothing and characters when the Shop opens up in March. If you complete all of the stories (should take you around an hour) you’ll have just over 150,000 Fight Money when combined with the funds you start the game with.
Keep in mind that you’ll only net the rewards the first time through, so you can get the idea of double dipping out of your head.
Level Up Your Fighters
Each fighter will earn experience as you play with them in every mode other than Training. With each level earned you’ll get 1,000 Fight Money. This will require you to play with all of the characters if you really want to maximize your income.
You don’t have to win your Versus matches either (although that does help). Just continue to play against others and earn experience so that you can have all the coins you need to do whatever you want with. The fact that you can net some Trophies/Achievements by leveling up your fighters is an added bonus.
Survival Mode
Survival Mode is a bit more of a challenge. You’ll definitely struggle with characters that you aren’t comfortable with, but it offers better rewards than Story Mode does. There are also multiple difficulties for you to partake in, with each higher tier offering increased benefits.
It can be a bit frustrating, though, so start with characters you have fully grown accustomed to. That will give you a higher chance of clearing the gauntlets and will help you earn way more Fight Money.
Challenge Mode
Capcom will be adding a Challenge Mode to Street Fighter V with a big update next month. These challenges are supposed to offer better rewards for your time, so there is a good chance that you’ll be able to earn some serious bank when it rolls out.
Although nothing can be purchased at the moment, it’s a good idea to start farming for Fight Money right now. When the Shop goes live in March, you’ll want to be able to buy all of the costumes and new characters right away so you don’t get left behind.
