NieR: Automata – Final Fantasy XV Engine Blade

Recommended Videos

NieR: Automata features a crossover weapon from Final Fantasy XV, the Engine Blade. This is the default weapon used by Noctis, and it’s available as a weapon that you can pick up in Automata’s world.

To get the weapon, simply play through the game normally until you reach a late-game story mission that requires you to escape from the Abandoned Factory. Once you’re at that stage, proceed through the level and follow the linear path until you come to a conveyor belt filled with crushers that can insta-kill you. After getting past the crushers and reaching the next tower, go inside the room where you’ll encounter more machines. Go through the other door in the room and you’ll be outside again. Climb the stairs, but keep a look out for a hole in the railing along the steps. Move towards the railing, and the camera will pan out to show that you can jump to reach the top of the crushers.

Double jump and hold X to glide on the Pod if you’re having difficulty getting to the top of the crushers. Continue jumping until you get all the way to the end, where you’ll find another room. Here, you’ll find a chest that contains the Engine Blade. There’s another larger chest here, but it has to be hacked before you can open it. Do note that after grabbing the Engine Blade, exploding enemies will start spawning in the room.

You can acquire the Engine Blade during your first playthrough of the game, but it’ll be locked out during your second run to get Ending B. However, the Abandoned Factory will be open again during your third playthrough, so don’t worry if you missed it the first time.
