FIFA 17: How to do a Finesse Shot and Score

A curling effort.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

When you’re in front of goals in FIFA 17, you’ll need to make sure you’re making the most of your chances and putting them past the goalkeeper. In order to do this, you’ll need to ensure you’re using the correct shot for the right scenario. Knowing when and how to do each of these is imperative to becoming lethal in front of a goal.

Performing a finesse shot is easy enough. All you have to do is hold down R1 and RB while pressing the Circle and B button to accurately send the ball into the back of the net. This can be particularly useful if you’re approaching the goal from an angle and want to curl the ball around the keeper and into the back of the net.

The main trick with the finesse shot is to make sure you get the amount of power on the shot right depending on where you want the ball to go. For example, if you want to slot it into one of the bottom corners, it won’t take too much power. However, if you’re aiming to slot the ball into the top right-hand corner from the edge of the box, you’ll be looking somewhere just over half way up the power bar to slot it away.

The more you try finesse shots, the easier you’ll find it to put them into the back of the net. After all, practice makes perfect.
