Fallout 4: Automatron – How to Get an Eyebot Pod and What it Does

It sees all.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

As you probably already know, Fallout 4’s first expansion, Automatron, has added a bunch of new things for you to collect and create. There are new weapons, robots, and even structures. One of these structures is known as the Eyebot Pod. You only gain access to this particular structure after searching the Mechanist’s Lair after the last mission of the expansion, “Restoring Order.”

You’ll want to check the bedroom behind the security room you used to deactivate the lockdown in the facility. You’ll find the blueprint on top of a table. Once you have the blueprint, head to one of your Workshops (located in Settlements) and locate the Eyebot Pod under the Special tab. To build it you’ll need:

  • 2 Copper
  • 4 Circuitry
  • 6 Aluminum
  • 2 Fiber Optics
  • 2 Nuclear Material
  • After building you need to connect it to energy. Requires 6 Energy.

You’re probably still wondering what the heck it even does. It’s actually a very useful tool used for locating and farming materials, ammunition, and explosives. Just access the connected terminal, choose what you want, and an robot will exit the Eybot Pod and search for the item for you. It takes a bit of time, so find a nearby bed and sleep, or a chair to wait in (about four hours does the trick). Afterwards, you’ll have a new Miscellaneous quest that will pinpoint where to find your items.

You can build multiple Eyebot Pods so go nuts. The more, the merrier. Having more will help cut down the time of looking for many resources too, so it’s definitely a good idea to do so.
