Batman: Arkham Knight Riddler Missions Guide – How to Beat Numeracy 101

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

Early on in Batman: Arkham Knight, the Riddler will reveal himself to be in the middle of a dastardly endeavor (as he does in every Batman Arkham game). This time, the Riddler has Catwoman hostage and he would like for Batman to come play a game in order to free her. Upon arrival, it is discovered that she has been fitted with an explosive collar, one that will need to be unlocked by finding a series of keys to count down her 9 lives (Riddler is so clever). Of course, in order to obtain these keys you will have to complete a serious of difficult challenges, both with Catwoman, and alone.

One such challenge is the Numeracy 101 room, which unlocks after completing your first Batmobile challenge for the Riddler. As the name implies, the focus is on numbers and while it may look a bit confusing at first glance, it’s actually surprisingly simple.

The first thing you’re going to want to do is split up. The room is separated by a gate that runs along the center. On either side of the gate five question mark switches, a floor switch, and a screen can be found. Position Batman on one side, and Catwoman on the other (both standing on a floor switch) so that you can tackle this Riddler challenge.

Pick one of the two characters and look at the screen above the switches in front of you. A series of 5 numbers will play repeatedly. Those numbers are the order in which the other player needs to hit their switches from left to right. So Batman’s screen gives you Catwoman’s order and vice versa. It’s as simple as that. Once you’ve hit all of the switches, the gate in the middle of the room will raise up and those Riddler Bots that were trapped in the background will come out to play. Defeat them and collect your key.

That was easy, right? Well, don’t get used to it. This is probably the only really easy Riddler challenge you’ll deal with as part of his Most Wanted questline. He wants nothing more than to prove he’s better than Batman and he’ll stop at nothing to do so.

That’s one key down and many more to go. How did you feel about this particular mission?  Was Numeracy 101 just to easy for you? Would you like for the Riddler to step it up a notch?
