Today Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games released two videos featuring panels that were not streamed at CitizenCon.

This means that we finally get to see content that had been reserved to attendees so far.

The first video focuses on ship, giving an in-depth look at the design of the Anvil Carrack, the Anvil Pisces, and the newly-revealed Drake Kraken Privateer.

Toward the end the developers also teased four more vehicles, a ground mining vehicle, a multicrew Xian cargo ship, a Tevarin light fighter, and a starter refinery ship. Those are very early concepts, so we likely shouldn’t expect to see more for a while, if they even turn into actual ships.

The second video is perhaps even more interesting, as it focuses on prison gameplay.

In Star Citizen criminals that are arrested or killed will be jailed, but this doesn’t mean that they’ll simply sit in a cell.

Starting with the implementation of the first jail in update 3.9 (coming around March 2020), there will be a whole suite of prison-related gameplay features, from forced labor to shorten one’s sentence, to fighting-related content, including daring escapes, and more.

It certainly appears like a great way to turn punishment into something that could be a lot of fun, even if we’ll have to see how well it’ll work when implemented.

In other Star Citizen news, the crowdfunding total for the game has been skyrocketing thanks to the ongoing anniversary sale.

Today it passed 249 million dollars, and it’s currently at $249,892,938.

If you want to see more you can check out the impressive gameplay shared at CitizenCon and the second part, showing planet Microtech, the Anvil Carrack, and the Anvil Pisces, and the first wormhole jump to a new system. You can also take a look at the brand new “Theatres of War” Battlefield-like gameplay mode, the reveal of the game’s universe simulation tech, Quantum, and more videos and screenshots showing planet tech v4, Microtech and its capital, New Babbage.

For the sake of full disclosure, you should keep in mind that the author of this article has been a Star Citizen backer since the original Kickstarter campaign several years ago.
