Rework Warwick – League of Legends

Recommended Videos

After a gruesome set of teasers over the last week, Riot has finally unveiled their comprehensive Warwick rework. The classically simple jungler is keeping his focus on accessibility, but has gained some new Zaun mechanisms and a more bloodthirsty theme.

Warwick’s abilities, like before, center on lifesteal and hunting, but now with increased fervor. His passive grants him bonus magic damage on basic attacks, and heal him if he’s below half health. His Q lunges him towards an opponent, biting them for health. W has both a passive an active form, but both are used to increase movement speed when moving towards targeted champions. His E, the most novel of rework Warwick’s abilities, reduces his damage taken and causes nearby enemies to flee. His infamous ultimate is staying largely the same, allowing him to leap, suppress a target, deal damage, and heal himself in the process.

You can check out the official descriptions and gameplay videos of Warwick’s abilities below:

Warwick Rework Abilities – League of Legends

Passive: Eternal Thirst
Warwick’s basic attacks deal bonus magic damage. If Warwick is below half health, the bonus damage heals him for the same amount.

Q: Jaws of the Beast
Warwick lunges forward and bites his target, healing for some of the damage dealt. Holding down the key locks onto the target, causing Warwick to leap behind them.

W (Passive): Blood Hunt
Enemy champions with less than half health leave behind a global blood trail leading to them and are Blood Hunted. Warwick has increased attack speed against Blood Hunted targets and massively increased out-of-combat movement speed when moving toward them. These bonuses are tripled against enemies with very low health.
W (Active): The nearest champion is Blood Hunted, even if they’re full health. Blood Hunt’s active has a long cooldown, but cools down twice as fast while no enemies are being hunted.

E: Primal Howl
Warwick takes reduced damage for a short duration. At the end of the duration—or if activated again—Warwick howls, causing nearby enemies to flee in fear.

R: Infinite Duress
Warwick leaps in a direction and suppresses the first champion he collides with, dealing damage and applying on-hit effects throughout the duration. The leap’s distance increases based on Warwick’s movement speed, and he heals for all damage he deals during Infinite Duress. Warwick is immune to crowd control effects during the leap.

Warwick Rework Splash Art – League of Legends

Every new League of Legends backstory needs new splash art, and so Warwick has some entirely new looks to go with his rework. These visual updates focus more on Warwick as a chimera than a werewolf, giving him bat-like ears and a fox-like tail. We also see Singed’s handy Metallurgy work in his claw and back… pods.
