How to Get Raw Meat – Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Cooking is a major part of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Not only does it provide Link with health, but certain recipes will offer bonus stats and effects. Plenty of meals are going to require raw meat, though, so we’ll walk you through how to get raw meat in this wide open world.

As you may have guessed, this resource can be acquired by killing animals. Goats, foxes, boars, and more will drop it when defeated. Some animals, however, will not be a source of raw meat. This includes fish, birds (which only drop raw bird legs), and squirrels (which only drop acorns).

Raw meat can also be found just lying around, typically near camps. Simpy walk right up and pick your food off the ground. Not super sanitary, but it’ll do the trick.

The last way to get raw meat is by buying it from merchants. While this can be an easy way to grab a lot of this resource easily, you’re better off saving your money for more valuable items.

Now that you know how to get raw meat in Breath of the Wild, be sure to check out our complete recipe guide, as well as our growing wiki filled with tips and other info.
