How to Watch YouTube Red
YouTube Red is the paid streaming subscription service for YouTube, presently available in the United States, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand and South Korea. First launching in October 2015, it offers ad-free streaming, as well as exclusive content from some of the biggest YouTube personalities such as PewDiePie, MatPat and, until recently, Logan Paul. Original content is also being made for the platform, including the upcoming Cobra Kai series, a Karate Kid sequel that focuses on dreaded rival Johnny Lawrence.
Those who are hoping to try it out (and are residents of any of the above countries) can sign up for a one-month free trial, after which point they will be charged the monthly fee ($10 for the US market) for continued use. There is no legal way to obtain free YouTube Red access beyond the trial period.
Unfortunately, those outside of the countries listed are unable to access YouTube Red at this time, though YouTube chief executive Susan Wojcicki has recently confirmed that they are looking to expand into “many more countries,” with claims citing as many as 100 nations eventually receiving access. No timetable for this plan has been announced, nor a suggestion about which countries would be included.
