How Long is Yakuza Kiwami?

Yakuza Kiwami lets fans step back into the shoes of Kazuma Kiryu on his very first adventure. The game is a complete remake of the first title on PS2, and makes some meaningful additions while keeping the original story pretty much exactly intact. Of course, there are some new scenes added on to tie the game more closely to Yakuza Zero. Because of this, you’ll no doubt be wondering just how long Yakuza Kiwami might take you this time around.

Because Kiwami matches the story of the original, it’s a bit shorter than your usual Yakuza game, although longer than the PS2 one. The game is separated out into 12 different story chapters, filled with plenty of crime drama and twists. In total if you’re only looking to play straight through the main story, Yakuza Kiwami will probably take you roughly 15 hours to complete. Of course, part of the appeal of the series is the huge amount of side content you can dig into. There are over 70 subevents to complete and tons of minigames you can play, not to mention the brand new Majima Everywhere system.

If you want to complete everything in the game you’re looking at upwards of 30-35 hours. You can choose how much of this content you want to engage with, and our own playthrough took about 28 hours after completing the majority of Majima Everywhere, 65 subevents, and playing a handful of minigames.
