Can You Go to the Champion District in Yakuza 6?
Yakuza 6 is the latest entry in the long-running PlayStation series, and it uses a brand new engine known as the Dragon Engine. The engine makes some big technical improvement, providing a big graphical boost and a seamless world. In past games every time you entered a building or battle there’d be a short loading screen required. Now, however, it’s completely seamless letting you enter and exit these things at will. This makes Kamurocho more interactive than ever before, but if you’ve started Yakuza 6 you might notice that the Kamurocho map seems a bit smaller than before.
With the new technology, it seems that the development studio cut out a bit of Kamurocho. Primarily you’ll notice that the area with Ryugujo and Kamuro Hills is blocked off, as well as the Champion District, with the game telling you there’s construction happening in those areas. Sadly the Champion District never does open up, and what you see is what you get in Yakuza 6. The good news, however, is that you get another area to explore with the small fishing town of Onomichi, Jingaicho. While not as big as Kamurocho, istdoes provide some nice variation to the glitz and glamor of the red-light district.
