Paint your town pink!

Niantic has revealed that Pokemon GO will be getting a Valentine’s day event that will run for the next week. The event is similar to the Halloween and Christmas events that saw an increased chance of catching certain Pokemon and increased candy rewards for captures and walking with your buddy Pokemon.

The main addition is the increased likelihood of finding “adorable” Pokemon in the wild. The Pokemon with increased spawn rates are:

  • Chansey
  • Clefable
  • Jigglypuff
  • Wigglytuff
  • Clefairy

Cleffa, Smoochum, and Igglybuff will also be more likely to hatch from eggs for the coming week.

Another addition will also “help you paint your town pink.” That is because lure modules will last for six hours, twelve times the half an hour they usually last.

You will also earn twice as much candy for every Pokemon you hatch, catch, or transfer in Pokemon GO, helping you complete your Pokedex. Finally, your buddy Pokemon will also find candies twice as fast as you walk with them accompanying you.

The Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day event begins today, Feb. 8, and runs throughout the next seven days, ending at 11:00 am PST on Feb. 15, the day after Valentine’s Day. Be sure to take advantage of the additions while you can.
