If you’re wondering what AP does in Dislyte and how exactly it works, here’s everything you need to know.
AP is a key mechanic in Dislyte‘s combat, and mastering it and understanding how it works will often give you the edge in your battles. Let’s get into it.
What Does AP Do in Dislyte?
To boil it down to its simplest terms, every character will gain AP over the course of a battle in Dislyte. Once their AP bar is filled up, they’ll get to take a turn.
In the screenshot above, you can see each character’s icon moving along the bar at the bottom of the screen. This represents how far along on the AP bar they are. Once they reach the rightmost end of the AP bar, they’ll get to take a turn.
So basically, the more AP you have, the closer you’ll be to taking a turn in battle.
What Determines AP in Dislyte?
Now, this is where things start to get a little more complicated. As you continue playing the game, you’ll notice that some characters move faster on the AP bar than others. This is where the Speed stat comes into play.
Essentially, the more Speed that a character has, the faster they’ll gain AP, and the more turns they’ll be able to take. It’s even possible for a character that has insanely high Speed to lap slower characters, and end up taking two turns before the opponent even has a chance to react.
In addition to that, there are tons of AP manipulation abilities in the game as well. Some characters are able to increase the AP gained for their entire party, letting them take their turn faster, while others can straight up deplete your AP, forcing you all the way back to the beginning of the bar.
For instance, Clara’s Hymn of Life ability heals the entire party, and increases their AP. On the flipside, Lucas’ S3 decreases AP for the entire opposing team, and his basic attack gives him AP Absorption, letting him move faster.
It’s possible to counter this by making sure your party’s Resist stat is as high as possible, so that you can prevent yourself from falling victim to AP manipulation.
How to Increase Speed Stat in Dislyte
Now that you know how AP works, you’ll probably want to pump your Speed stat as much as possible to really gain an advantage over other players. Dislyte lets you increase a character’s Speed by leveling them up normally, but most of your Speed gains will come from Relics.
You can farm Ritual Miracles in the game for Relics, which come with randomized main stats and sub-stats. It’s important to note that only the circle, square, and heart-shaped Relics can give you Speed main stats; the other three Relic slots are fixed. However, all Relics have a chance of dropping with Speed sub-stats.
Once you find a good Relic that you like, you can enhance it with gold. Every enhancement level will increase the main stat, and at every three levels, a random sub-stat will get upgraded.
