Uncharted 4: How to Use and Throw Grenades/Dynamite

This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Grenades are a staple weapon of the Uncharted series, Uncharted 4 being no exception. They’re ideal for clearing out grouped enemies, taking down extra large baddies, or even just causing some chaos while you dodge to cover. In Uncharted 4, grenades and dynamite can also be used to break down certain walls. You don’t get access to these tools from the start of U4, however.

To use explosives, you’ll have to wait until a certain chapter of the story (highlight here for the chapter number and name: Chapter 8: The Grave of Henry Avery). There, you’ll come across a box of dynamite and need to use it to break through a wooden door. After this, you’ll be able to pick up more dynamite sticks to carry with you. You can carry a maximum of four dynamite sticks/grenades, grenades appearing in later chapters of the game.

To throw dynamite or grenades, press R1. To aim the explosive, hold R1 and a trajectory will appear. Aim towards your desired mark, and release R1 to throw.
